Job Location
The Birth Doula position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Job Duties
The Birth Doula is responsible for following an individual mom/family through the birth process to provide emotional, physical and informational support; the doula will do a prenatal interview, have contact with the family between the interview and onset of labor, work with the family at the hospital during the labor and birth process, stay for 1-2 hours following a birth to provide assistance and do a postpartum follow-up visit or phone call. A small amount of paperwork is required.
Prior experience working with birthing families is preferred.
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of approved DONA International doula training required.
No license required
Must be able to work independently, must be able to work as a team member at the bedside with other care providers.
Have a knowledge of comfort measures for laboring women, doulas must be able to work independently prior to labor as well as be a team member at the bedside.
No testing required Additional InformationAvailable to be on call to an expectant family without hours set in advance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
